Still working...

Hi! My name is Russell Batista, I am a former athlete and a science person, with taste for old stuff and passionate for learning.

Right now I work as a freelancer coach and computer scientist, I’m a retro geek that does fitness stuff and a fan of deep work.

I like to be open minded and to break the stereotype of what a profession should do, the convergence of different areas is my favorite field. I got the chance to study Physics, Computer Science and Human Movement Sciences and make use of any tool I need for doing my best work.

As a coach I have the opportunity to guide people to a better lifestyle, with a special care for those who are living with limiting conditions or have no guidance to achieve a dreamed activity. It’s nice to help someone get bigger chest, or run a marathon, but what, for me, is the most fulfilling is to help someone have a better life, or catch a goal that they believe impossible.

As a physicist and computer scientist I get the chance to challenge myself every day to solve complex problems, and I enjoy those in which, at the starting point, don’t show any sign of what the solution could look like, those that involve research, learning new skills and applying it all to solve the task are my favorite.

Right now I am a volunteer in a project of Quantum Computing for Quantum Chemistry related to molecule simulation with Quantum processors, and just engaged with the field of Biomechanics and Robotics.

Personal philosophy

My day to day job involves working with many people, and I dislike those cold customer-provider relations, so whenever I work with a customer I prefer to befriend him or her, turning that service into a helping a friend, which I truly enjoy. As a friend of mine says, “friends are the family that you chose”.

I train as a lifestyle to keep my body and brain in great shape, and to feel good. Some years ago, I used to be a runner and a triathlete with competitive goals. Now days exercise is one of the foundations of my life.

Got a challenge? Let’s do it!
